Code of conduct for suppliers: shared promise, double the value

14 March 2025

As a family business, our conduct ensures that future generations can continue to operate in healthy economic, environmental and social conditions. So that this standard is upheld beyond the Planzer Group, we have developed a code of conduct for suppliers. As a binding policy, this code states that our understanding of sustainability is an (extended) family matter.

Combining and multiplying forces

Economic efficiency, social fairness and ecological stability – this is how we as a Swiss family business define sustainability. These maxims should be embraced beyond our value chain. This is why we have enshrined the basic principles for the way we work with business partners in a code of conduct. Firstly, this policy aims to establish a uniform understanding of values. Secondly, the code of conduct helps to ensure that our business partners and suppliers are even more committed to environmental, social and corporate sustainability and incorporate our group-wide endeavours into their day-to-day operations.

Our approach

Our code of conduct for suppliers ensures that everyone who works with us pursues the same high sustainability standards and consistently implements these in their processes. This shared approach has a positive impact on the entire value chain. The code of conduct is binding and part of any cooperation agreement. By signing it, our suppliers undertake to assume ecological, social and economic responsibility with the following priorities:

  • Responsible use of resources
  • Fair working conditions & protection of human rights
  • Transparent business relationships

Evidence and ideas required

Rules are usually only effective if they are followed. That is why we occasionally require our suppliers to provide evidence that they comply with our code of conduct. On request, they must make it clear to us which, if any, aspects of the code they do not comply with. If required, we will perform checks and inspections or ask independent third parties to do so on our behalf. In addition, we encourage our suppliers to develop innovative ideas to make social, economic or environmental improvements. In close dialogue and by means of combined innovation, we make even better use of the potential of sustainable cooperation.

Future-bound

Sustainability is no longer merely a marketing issue. It is a competitive factor for businesses. A holistic perspective and practical approach allow us to extend our pursuit of responsible procurement practices, as well as ethical, legally compliant operations, to our upstream and downstream business environment. We incorporate these while actively addressing the issue. We therefore make sure that both our suppliers and ourselves continuously develop and take a forward-looking approach when making changes.
