Planzer Welcome Day 2026

10 September 2026

Everything you need for a successful start to a new phase of your life: at the Planzer Welcome Day, our new apprentices from across the Group come together to learn more about Planzer and start building connections as they begin their training.

::The Planzer Welcome Day

This year marked the third Group-wide Welcome Day for all new apprentices at the Planzer Group. A dynamic start to an apprenticeship, organised by our own training department, ABI.

A special start to an apprenticeship

For our new apprentices, the start of their apprenticeship marks the beginning of a new chapter in their lives. During the Planzer Welcome Day, we officially welcome them to the Planzer family and give them the opportunity to make their first cross-company contacts and get to know our corporate culture and values even better. The Welcome Day at the Umweltarena in Spreitenbach took place for the third time in August 2026 and has become an integral part of starting an apprenticeship at the Planzer family business.

Group-wide network

What makes the Welcome Day special is that it brings together new apprentices from different professions, locations and all subsidiaries. This creates a group-wide exchange, a sense of togetherness and the opportunity to get to know Planzer beyond your own workplace right from the start. To ensure that our apprentices from Ticino were able to follow the programme without any problems, dedicated interpreters were on hand to translate the content live into Italian. The French-speaking apprentices from French-speaking Switzerland have their own Welcome Day, which takes place in Penthalaz.

Taking responsibility early on

The apprentices take the floor themselves early on. In an interactive company presentation, they present their new employer to each other and to members of the management. The programme also included a varied activity circuit and plenty of time for games, fun and personal interaction.

‘For us, the Welcome Day is much more than an introductory day. It should show our apprentices that they’re part of it, they’re part of the Planzer family and a significant part of something bigger.’

Patrizia Manduca, Head of Basic Occupational Training

Already a budding tradition

The Welcome Day is therefore much more than just a traditional introduction. It combines information, networking and shared experiences for a special start to an apprenticeship. It is now firmly anchored in the programme and the culture of starting an apprenticeship at Planzer and it is one of THE events of the year for our training department, ABI.
